With the use of an integrated system called JailATM, inmates can now stay in constant communication with their families. JailATM, like the majority of jail communication systems, enables friends and family to add money to the inmate account of their loved one.
Even though it won’t be too difficult to make deposits to an inmate account, if you’ve never done it before, it might seem complicated. Thankfully! We’ll walk you through the JailATM deposit process so you can receive the messages that your loved one sent you from prison.
Let’s get started!
Why Do You Need to Add Money to an Inmate Account Via JailATM?
The fact that incarcerated individuals have needs just like anyone else outside prison does not need to be denied. They also have to fulfill their daily needs, starting with food, clothing, and hygiene items.
Sometimes, the facility does not provide sufficient care for them. As a result, they have to purchase what they need from the commissary. And of course, they should pay it with money that they may receive from their family. If they don’t have any, they can’t do it.
The question is, do you have the courage to do that to your loved one in prison? Letting them go without money? Of course not!
That’s why adding money to their inmate account is a must, right?

Usually, your deposit will arrive within 24-48 hours after being processed.

To do so, you can:
- Log into your JailATM account.
- Once logged in, you can click “My Account.”
- Then, choose “Deposit/Charge History.”
The screen will show you all successful transactions, including deposits and charges for commissary orders. The status will appear if the inmate has received the deposit or if it is still transmitting.
If it is missing, you can contact the facility as soon as possible to do an investigation. JailATM will take over the investigation if the facility cannot resolve the issue after 72 business hours.
