With the use of JailATM, you can keep in touch with your loved one in prison, either via messaging or video calls. To ensure their needs are met, you can also order commissary packs for them, such as food, drinks, toiletries, and clothes.
Every time you do one of these, you’ll need to search for an inmate first to make sure you send it to the correct one. It may be tough for you if this is your first time doing it. But believe that it is not as complicated as you imagine.

JailATM Inmate Search: Here’s How!
JailATM does not provide a tool to search for an inmate directly on its website. It can instead be done when you use its services. Thus, you can only locate the inmate on JailATM if you’re performing the following things:
1. Make Deposits
In order to find an inmate, you can try to make deposits since you’ll have to select an inmate before doing so. This will not show the entire list of inmates in a particular facility; you can find it only if you input the inmate’s name correctly.
To make deposits, you can go to the “Send Money Now” page or click here. https://deposits.jailatm.com/webdeposits/frmsearch.aspx.
If you already have a JailATM account, you can click “Sign In/Register.”
Or you can also directly select the state and facility and enter the inmate name in the available box. Then click “Search.”
If the inmate you are looking for is in that facility, the next page will bring up the inmate list. If it shows more than one inmate with the same name, you can click on the name for details.
Afterwards, you can make a deposit to the inmate’s account.
2. Send Message
You can also search for an inmate when you want to send a message. After signing into your JailATM account, you can go to “My Account.” Then, click “Messaging.”
To send a message, you can then click “Send Message.” Make sure to select the state and facility and enter the inmate’s last name.
After you click “Search,” the following page will show the list of inmates you’re looking for. Make sure to choose the correct inmate before you compose the message. Last, you can click “Send.”
3. Send an Image
When sending an image, you’ll be required to enter an inmate. The way to do this is the same as when you send a message. After logging into your JailATM account, you can select “Send Image” from the messaging section.
Here, you’ll have to choose the state, the facility, and the name of the inmate you’re referring to. Once the list of inmates appears, you can click on one recipient. Now, you can find the inmate you’re looking for.
Last, choose an image you want to send from your computer or device and click “Send.”

4. Order Commissary Packs
There’s no doubt that when making a commissary order for incarcerated individuals, you must choose the correct inmate. If not, your package will likely be sent to the wrong inmate.
In order to find an inmate for a commissary order, you can go to “My Account” after you’ve logged into your JailATM account.
From the Tasks menu, you can choose the “Order Commissary Packs” option.
Make sure to choose the state and the facility where the inmate is incarcerated.
Now, you need to enter the inmate‘s last name. Then, click “Search.”
The following page will show the list of inmates. Of course, you should click on the inmate you want to place the commissary order for.
Here, you can pick the items and quantities that you’ll purchase. Then, click “Add to Cart.”
Before making a payment, you can “View to Cart” first to check your order.
You can continue to pay the order by choosing the payment method from the drop-down box.
Last, you can click “Check Out” after checking the terms agreement box.
5. Make a Video Visit Schedule
JailATM also allows you to connect with your loved one in prison through a video visitation. Before taking an actual video call, you should make a schedule for it first.
Of course, this step requires you to choose an inmate you would like to call. To find the correct one, you need to log into your JailATM first.
Then, click “Video Call.”
On the next page, you should select the state, facility, and, of course, the inmate’s last name. Then, click “Search.”
Make sure to select the inmate you’re looking for from the inmate list. Then, click “Schedule Video Visit.”
You can choose to take a video call from home or in the facility. And you need to select the date and time.
Now, you’ve made a schedule for video visitation.
6. Take an Actual Video Call
After the video visit schedule is made, you can then take a direct video call based on the time you choose. Just like scheduling video visits, you should also look for inmates when you want to make actual video calls. This can be done after you log in to your JailATM account.
After you find the inmate from the list you’d like to call, you can click “Visit Now.”
The next screen will say, “Waiting for the call to be answered.” So, you only need to wait for it.
