About Securus Direct Bill

A Direct Bill account is a type of account where you can receive the collect calls from your incarcerated loved ones. If you choose this account to communicate with your inmate, the charges will be billed directly to you every month from SCBS (Securus Correctional Billing Services). Direct Bill is the most suitable account for you to use if your loved one is incarcerated for more than two years. Also, this type of account is best used if you are an attorney, consulate, bail bondsman, social worker, government agency or other small business. You will be able to receive an itemized monthly billing statement from SCBS (Securus Correctional Billing Services) for your calls with verification or approved credit.  In addition, a credit check may be required for this account.

Here are some of the benefits offered by Direct Bill account:

    • You can accept calls and charges up to your credit limit.
    • Detailed monthly billing report of call activity.
    • You will be able to add multiple phone numbers to your account for making sure that you receive all your calls.
    • Depending on facility restrictions, calls will usually be connected to a cell phone.
    • If your bill is fully paid by the due date, then you can receive inmate calls without any hassle.
    • There is no minimum payment amount.
    • You have 24/7 access to your account on Securus official website, or you can also contact them by phone.

For note: You need to manage your account with Securus Online immediately if you have received a notification that a Direct Bill account is automatically opened for you.

To make payments on your account online, a transaction fee is up to $7.95. If payment is made by phone, a transaction fee is approximately up to $9.95. As for payments by mail or through your online banking service, there is no transaction fee.

Payment Options for Securus Bill

To receive calls from a correctional facility, you will need an account to pay for the calls. Thus, to assist you keep in touch with your incarcerated loved ones, Securus offer you some convenient account options; AdvanceConnect™, Direct Bill and Traditional Collect.

Apparently, there are some convenient payment options offered by Securus to meet your needs. The payment methods are in person or online using Quick Collect® or Western Union®. You can choose to pay Securus Bill by cash, Credit/Debit Card, Money Order or Cashier’s Check.

  • Credit/Debit Card Online or By Phone

You can pay the bill with a credit or debit card online or by phone. Make sure that your credit/debit card is a Visa or Mastercard. Besides online, you can also contact Securus by phone to pay your bill. You will be able to set up your account or make payment by calling 1-800-844-6591.

  • Using Quick Collect®

You can find the receiver of the Quick Collect payment under Select Other Billers. Make sure that it is Securus. Then, you can follow all instructions to complete the payment. You will be asked to register if you are not a registered user at Western Union®

  • Using Western Union payment form

If you want to pay a Securus Bill using Western Union payment form, make sure that you follow instructions given to you. You will be asked for some information in the Payment Information section. Just fill them like this:

    • Pay To: Securus
    • Code City: Securus
    • State: Texas

Do not forget to include your 6- or 7-digit account number. You can sign in or call at 1-800-844-6591 if you are not sure about your account number. We highly suggest you choose the Western Union agent closest to you. So, please search for the Western Union agent location closest to you by searching from the internet using your choice browser. For your information, if your payment is completed at a Western Union retail location, typically it can take five to eight business hours to process.

Stay Connected with Inmates Using AutoPay and TextPay

Besides Direct Bill account, AdvanceConnect™ account is also another type of account you can choose to manage your calling account with your incarcerated loved ones. Securus Technologies allows you to sign up for account balance notifications and automatic payment processing with the AutoPay and TextPay programs. The goal of the program is to ensure that you never miss a call from your beloved inmate.

  • AutoPay

AutoPay will automatically fund your AdvanceConnect account with your predetermined amount if your balance is low, below $10.

  • TextPay

When funds on your account are low, TextPay will send you a text notification allowing you to immediately fund your AdvanceConnect account or make a payment to your Direct Bill account right from your phone. Make sure you specify the amount you want to fund, then answer “YES,” and your account will be funded.

To sign up for AutoPay or TextPay for AdvanceConnect® or Direct Bill, a Securus Online account is required. And, there may be a transaction fee for each AutoPay or TextPay deposit. Please visit SecurusTech.net to sign up for Securus Online so you can take advantage of these great programs.

Other Payment Options

Depending on availability and facility restrictions, you may receive calls from jail or prison with the option to pay for one-time calls using the Text2Connect™ or Pay Now™ programs. If possible, you can try using one of those payment methods. Remember that this type of payment option requires you always funds or transfer funds regularly to your inmate when your inmate’s balance is low. Therefore, ensure you add funds or transfer funds regularly when the inmate’s balance in their Securus debit account is low. That way, inmates will be able to make phone calls to their family and friends whenever they want.
