The information in daily incarcerations is believed to be accurate, but the WVRJ does not guarantee the accuracy of the information, either express or implied, because this will be influenced by several factors, including when you access it.
Also, WVRJ is not responsible for the use of such information for any inappropriate or inaccurate purposes or disclosures arising from its republication by individuals and agencies, whether public or private.
Regarding the potential penalties that offenders may receive shown in the database, these are not intended to reflect the events underlying the criminal conduct. Instead, such reference must be made to the records of any court that has jurisdiction over the offender.
It’s important to note that the latest or most complete may not always be available due to issues related to existing data conversion.

Using WVRJA Daily Incarcerations: Here’s How!
For inmate searches at WV Regional Jail, you can access the WVDCR website or directly go to the daily incarcerations page here. https://apps.wv.gov/ois/offendersearch/rja/daily
Once you’re on the page, you’ll have to select a county to start a search.
Tick the captcha box.
Then, click “Search.”
The following page will bring up the list of inmates who are currently incarcerated at WVRJ.
And there will be notification regarding the acceptance of inmates at WVRJ until a certain time.
Make sure to scroll down the list until you find the inmate you’re looking for.
How to Search for an Inmate in the West Virginia Jail
WVDOCR also allows people to look for inmates who are in West Virginia jails through the “Offender Searches” tool.
The tool can be accessed on the WVDOCR website at https://dcr.wv.gov/Pages/default.aspx.
Then, go to the “Offender Searches” menu.
To look for an inmate who is currently housed at WV jail, you can click “Offender Search (Jails).”
On the next page, you can start a search by entering an inmate’s first and last name. If you do not know the inmate’s full name, you can enter at least three letters of their last name.
Don’t forget to tick the captcha box.
Then, click “Search.”
The following page will show you the list of inmates, including the inmate’s full name, jail location, and inmate’s photo.
You can scroll down the list to find the inmate you’re looking for.

How to Search for an Inmate in a West Virginia Prison
In addition to searching for an inmate who is housed in West Virginia jails, you can also do the same for finding inmates in WV prisons. It’s pretty straightforward since the way is as simple as before.
Once you’re at the WVDOCR website at https://dcr.wv.gov/Pages/default.aspx, you can click “Offender Search (Prisons).”
To do a search, you’ll have to enter the inmate’s ID number or the first three letters of their name, both their first and last names, on the available bar. Then, click “Search.”
