How to Visit an Inmate at the Southern Regional Jail
Southern Regional Jail (SRJ) allows inmates to receive non-contact visitation. Just like a remote visit, you can also need to schedule a visit first.
The inmate must first make a visitation request by submitting SRJ Form 5-0029. An inmate is allowed to accept one visit per month, with a visit duration of 30 minutes. And each visit is limited to one adult and two minors or two adults.
If a visit is required beyond the specified time period due to unusual circumstances, this must be approved one day in advance by the superintendent or chief correctional officer for consideration.
You can visit SRJ inmates at:
1200 Airport Road,
Beaver, WV 25813 (Raleigh County)
Here are the SRJ phone lines:
- Tel. (304) 256-6726
- Tel. (304) 256-6738 (Non-Contact Visitation Scheduling)
- Fax (304) 256-6739
Or you can find other SRJ hotlines that can connect you with community services about housing, health, substance abuse, financial needs, food, and more here. https://dcr.wv.gov/resources/Documents/resource-guides/SRJCF%20Resource%20Guide.pdf
About SRJ Daily Incarcerations
Actually, daily incarceration is a resource page that the public can access to search for inmates who are currently processed, booked, or incarcerated at West Virginia correctional facilities. In West Virginia, the facilities are divided into three divisions, which are spread out across the counties, including:
- Adult Facilities
- Juvenile Facilities and Reporting Centers
- Parole Services Offices
The information provided on daily incarceration will get regularly updated, so the information about inmates will quickly change, starting from the inmate’s actual location, status, booking date, release date, or other information about the inmate.
It may happen that when you access it, the details available about an inmate may be different from before. That’s why the West Virginia Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation (WVDCR) does not guarantee the accuracy of the information provided due to several factors that influence it, including the time when you access it.
Plus, WVDOCR is not responsible if the information provided is used for legally authorized purposes or republication by individuals and institutions, whether public or private.
Additionally, the information displayed on inmates’ profiles regarding their potential punishment is not intended to reflect the events underlying the crime. But it is only as a reference should be made to the records of the court having jurisdiction over the offenders.
Due to existing data conversion issues, the latest or most complete version may not always be available.
