For on-the-go users, the Inmate Sales app is actually the best option since it can simply be accessed on their smartphones. Most importantly, you can easily communicate with an inmate anywhere, anytime.

Download the Inmate Sales App
The Inmate Sales app is available on both Android and iOS. And there are two kinds of apps that you can download.
1. InmateSales App
This app can be used for funding and scheduling video visits.
In addition to being used to make a video visit schedule and send emails, you can also use the InmateSales app to manage your account and add funds to purchase its products at certain facilities.
Note: Not all InmateSales products and services are available in all correctional facilities.
2. InmateSales View
This app can be used to take an actual video visit.
The InmateSales View works differently from the InmateSales app. This app can only be used to place a video call with inmates at certain facilities. With the use of this app, you can take or receive a video session from whenever, as long as your device has an internet connection with a speaker and microphone supported.
Create an InmateSales Account
To use services on both InmateSales apps, you’ll have to create an account first. You can choose whether to create your account on a website or an app. But if you want to access the InmateSales View app, you must create it on the website.
On the InmateSales app, you simply click “Create a new account” on the login screen.
If you prefer to create one via website, you can go to https://inmatesales.com/#!/login.
In the “Create an Account” box, you can enter your phone number.
Then, you need to choose one method to receive a verification code, either via phone call or text message. After receiving it, you can enter the code on the available bar.
The following page will require you to enter your email address for verification.
Check your email. If the verification link is available, you can click “Verify Email.”
Once you click it, you’ll be taken to the registration page.
Here, you have to fill out your personal information, such as your email address and password, your first and last name, billing address, living address, and phone number.
Last, you can click “Submit.”
Congratulations! You’ve created an InmateSales account.
Logging into the Inmate Sales App
Now, you can log into the InmateSales app that you’ve downloaded before.
You can also log into your InmateSales account on its website.
Enter your email address and password.
And you can continue to do anything, like purchasing its services and products.
Purchasing Inmate Sales Products
Once you log in, you’re now able to purchase Inmate Sales products. If you want to buy products and make deposits, you can open the InmateSales app, not the InmateSales View app.
There are at least six products you can buy on the InmateSales app, including:
1. Direct Pay
Direct Pay is a call service that allows an inmate to call only one specific number since it is linked to one phone. The account at Direct Pay is owned by an inmate’s family member or friend. Every time an inmate makes a call, the fees will be automatically deducted from the account.
2. Prepaid Call Card
A prepaid call card is usually given to an inmate to make calls. Unlike Direct Pay, this card can be used to call any phone number, as long as the inmate has the calling card ID number. You can buy this card at the facility, but it doesn’t cover all facilities. So make sure to check its availability first.
3. PIN Debit
PIN debit allows inmates to make calls to any phone number, as long as the account has sufficient funds. Unlike the Direct Pay account, which is managed by the inmate’s family member or friend, it is instead owned by the inmates themselves.
But still, the account is usually funded by their family members and friends. However, this account will be considered to belong to the inmates.
4. Chirping Text Messaging
Chirping is a messaging service where inmates can easily stay in touch with their relatives through a device. The Chirper Device allows you to send a direct text message to your loved one in prison without any apps. The device is actually secured with a PIN.
Inmate Sales uses a rental system for the Chirper device. It costs about $4.00 for monthly service, and it will be deducted from the inmate’s debit account. To have the device, you can make a request first and buy the service.
5. Tablet
Inmate Sales also offers tables to inmates that they can use only for entertainment and educational purposes. The availability of the device aims to reduce recidivism because inmates are given access to contents that focus on education, vocation, workforce integration, and reentry.
6. View App
View is an InmateSales app that you can use to make a video visitation schedule. In order to do so, you should add funds for video visits.
There will be two options for taking video sessions, including:

- On-site video visits: You can do a video session in the facility where your loved one is incarcerated.
- Remote video visits: You can take a video visit from home. It is a great option since you can easier make a schedule for a remote visit than an on-site visit. But you must have a computer or smartphone with internet access.
Okay, those are all InmateSales products you can purchase on both its website and app.
Let’s take a look at how to purchase one product!
Via App
Open the InmateSales app on your smartphone.
Then, log into your account.
At the app home, you can click “New Purchase.”
Select the facility and choose a product you can buy.
Then, enter the amount of money.
Last, you can make a payment.
Via Website
Go to the InmateSales website here.
From the Purchasing section, you can select a facility and the product you want to buy.
On the following page, you need to enter the inmate and the amount of money if you make deposits.
In the “Cost and Payment” section, it will require you to make a payment for the product you’ll buy.
After you receive a receipt for your payment, your purchase is successfully completed.
